“Our company is an excellent place for young people with an ambition to grow”
As a Client Desk Operator, Ruud has worked at Ewals Cargo Care for nearly 4 years. He started out as an assistant at the Customer Care department, and now manages the orders for some 50 customers.
“We are responsible for every aspect of every order. As we manage the order, we also maintain frequent contacts with our various customers, all of whom have different needs and requirements. This turns my job into a varying one, and with some customers we developed great personal relations. Sixteen people work at our department, six of which within my own team. We truly have a great vibe between us, and as I’m sensitive to that, it’s really important for me. I’m a social person and believe that such an atmosphere contributes to our performance. Everyone within this company has great mutual relations, and the board has lunch together with us in the restaurant as well. I couldn’t have imagined that at my previous employer.
I recently became a key user for our planning system. This means I focus on system optimisation, solve errors in the system and I’m the go-to person if colleagues have questions. At my age, personal development is really important, and Ewals offers me ample opportunity for that. I completed a customer-oriented communication course last year, for instance, and I became a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt too while also participating in a time management course.
The great thing about these courses is that they are all hosted at our location. I recently became a father, which means it comes in handy to smartly manage your time. The business/private-ratio is also excellent at Ewals, people keep that in check too. And if you come up with your own ideas or initiatives, your colleagues will hear you out. Ewals is a company that’s always open to innovation. You notice that at our office, but also in our systems and work methods. This turns our company into an excellent place for young people with an ambition to grow.”
